Industries

A lubricant specification only means something in context. The same ISO 46 hydraulic oil that runs for years in a clean, climate-controlled factory can be finished in months on an excavator working dusty, wet and hot in the same week. Greyhound Lubricants formulates and recommends by sector for exactly that reason.

Sectors we supply

  • Automotive — workshops, service centres, dealer groups and the aftermarket, from engine oils to service consumables.
  • Transport & Fleets — long-haul and distribution fleets where drain intervals, fuel economy and uptime decide the cost per kilometre.
  • Mining & Construction — heavy plant working in dust, water and shock loading, where contamination control matters as much as the oil itself.
  • Power Generation — turbine, engine and transformer applications, including insulating oils for transformers and switchgear.
  • Manufacturing — hydraulics, gearboxes, compressors and circulating systems in continuous production environments.

How we work with industrial customers

The starting point is usually consolidation. Most operations run more lubricant lines than they need, often because they have been added one machine at a time over years. Reviewing the OEM requirements across a site and rationalising down to the smallest set of products that genuinely satisfies them cuts stockholding, reduces the chance of the wrong oil going into the wrong machine, and simplifies ordering.

From there it is about matching the grade to the duty rather than to habit, and getting the drain interval right. Extending intervals without evidence is expensive; so is changing oil that still has life in it. Where it is warranted we will discuss oil analysis so the interval is set by condition rather than by the calendar.
